We are seeking an experienced buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring we have adequate stock to maintain production. You will also be required to build and maintain relationships with our suppliers. Communication with production managers will be an essential part of this job. You will need to work to our H&S standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Purchase goods, materials, components
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems
  • Deliver updates and reports as and when required
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers
  • Mentor and coach a potential assistant Buyer
  • Responsible for stores operatives and stores area

Requirements:Skills Required:

  • Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem solving abilities
  • Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proven purchasing experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
  • Good knowledge of electrical part and components would be an advantage but not
  • High attention to detail
  • The ability to be calm under pressure.
  • Good communication.
  • A willingness to take on responsibility.
